Malaysia's PM warned DAP's Secretary-General that it is not necessary to revoke the existing economic policy, the New Economic Policy (NEP), claiming that by doing so would strain racial harmony (I was thinking whether his judgement is fair). He, to add on, reminded Lim Guan Eng not to marginalize the Malay community (now I supposed this speaks his mind correctly).
NEP, for almost 40 years, has specially looked after the rights and interest of the Malay community. These include having priorities in employment, housing, education, etc. The opposition feels that such policy encourages one to seek private gain, thus, corruption, a common yet bad practice in Malaysia.
Abdullah pointed out that this policy has in fact successfully allowed each and every Malaysian to benefit from it. He questioned DAP on whether any community has suffered deep poverty because of this policy.
At the same time, he reminded the new Penang government not to marginalize the Malay and Indian (did I hear it right, or could he only be just hinting at the former) community, which is of lesser population in Penang.
He questioned Lim Guan Eng on his plans for these 2 communities.

Anyway, I've found something on the web as I was browsing through news on the election. Read this blog (click below), especially the comments that followed, if you have the time for all. Interesting, but please don't take it too seriously. I certainly view some points as means of agitating the people and even stirring up trouble.

Embrace racial harmony. We are all friends.
